On September 24, the Ithaca community spoke out against rape and victim shaming by holding a local Slutwalk, an international victim’s rights movement.

The movement began after a Toronto policeman told students, “Women should avoid dressing like sluts in order not to be victimised,” (guardian.co.uk/?world/?2011/?may/?06/?slutwalking-policeman-talk-clothing).
